B. Tree Assessment & Project Priorities

The committee and Board agreed that the first priority is addressing dead trees. We intentionally waited until spring to determine which trees were truly dead and which might recover, so we could make informed decisions and bring the neighborhood back up to standard.

Cindy Smith and Chris walked the neighborhood and updated the map to identify 10 trees that require attention. These trees will be marked, and an estimate will help us determine what can be addressed within this year’s budget cycle.

Note to Homeowners: If there is a dead tree on your property, it is the homeowner’s responsibility to replace it. If no action is taken, the Board will arrange for the tree to be removed; however, the Board will not replace it with a new tree. Homeowners will receive a notice before any action is taken. If you wish to replace a tree on your property, please visit the HOA website to submit the required form. The Board typically approves these requests quickly.

Several committee members are gathering quotes for the removal and replacement of trees in the common areas. Larry and Chris will conduct another walk‑through now that spring growth is visible to confirm which trees need attention.

The second priority is the beautification of the front of the neighborhood. Annuals—and possibly a combination of annuals and perennials—will be planted around the entrance rock to create a more welcoming and attractive entryway.

Quotes are being obtained to cover plants and planting, filling gaps in existing bushes, soil abatement, and related needs. This work will be scheduled across the fall and spring seasons to ensure a consistent, inviting appearance at the neighborhood entrance.

C. Emergency projects will be addressed as they arise and will be prioritized based on urgency and impact. The committee and Board will evaluate each situation promptly to determine the appropriate course of action. 

D. Long‑Term Projects

Looking ahead, the Board and the committee have several long‑term ideas to ensure the neighborhood remains well‑maintained, attractive, and relevant. These projects may include additional beautification around the lake, improving erosion control, and other enhancements that continue to make our community a wonderful place to live.
